Why D12?Throughout Scripture, God uses numbers to reveal his kingdom and establish his divine order. The number twelve signifies his government and authority. We see this in the twelve tribes of Israel, the twelve minor prophets, and the twelve stars in the crown of the woman in Revelation 12. The New Jerusalem, described in Revelation 21, has twelve gates and twelve foundations, and the tree of life in Revelation 22 produces twelve different fruits, bearing fruit every month. Most significantly, Jesus Himself chose twelve disciples. The Power of D12If Jesus personally trained twelve disciples, why do many pastors attempt to disciple more than twelve, on their own? Are they greater than Jesus? Of course not. One of the greatest challenges in today's church is that many believers attend services but never truly experience discipleship. No one can be discipled solely from a sermon, no matter how inspiring it may be. Thousands followed Jesus when he preached, yet he intentionally invested in twelve. Why? Because discipleship requires close relationships, personal transformation, and a multiplication model - where disciples make more disciples. This is the biblical pattern for expanding God's kingdom. The Call to Make DisciplesJesus gave a clear mandate: "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:19-20)True discipleship goes beyond weekly gatherings; it requires time, effort, and deep commitment. It's about walking with people through their struggles, offering guidance, applying Scripture to daily life, and fervently praying until they are transformed by the Holy Spirit. Discipleship isn't just teaching - it's living life together. At D12 Church, we don't just preach; we build lasting relationships that produce real spiritual growth. OUR STATEMENT OF FAITHWe believe that the Holy Bible with 66 books is God's entire word, it is 100% divinely inspired, infallible, and completely trustworthy. It is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and daily living. We believe in one true God who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who is God revealed in the flesh. We affirm his virgin birth, sinless life, divine miracles, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension, ongoing intercession, and his triumphant return in power and glory. We believe that mankind is born into a fallen state and is eternally lost without God's intervention by Jesus Christ. We believe that salvation from this fallen state is found through faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ alone, apart from works, and that true transformation comes through the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit. We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells within the saved, empowering them to live holy lives, boldly witness, and serve in the work of Christ. We believe in the unity and priesthood of all of the saved as the Church, the Body of Christ. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost - those who are saved to everlasting life, and those who reject Christ to everlasting punishment. We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church and that he equips believers for service through the five-fold ministry of Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, and Teacher. We believe in the active ministry of the Holy Spirit today, demonstrated through signs, wonders, and the nine gifts of the Spirit. We believe in full immersion water baptism as an act of obedience following a personal decision to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit, with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues.
